Northwest Arkansas Neuropsychology specializes in evaluations for pediatric patients, ages 4 years through 21 years old.
Neuropsychological evaluation is a specialized technique that comprehensively assesses a child for neurocognitive strengths and weaknesses. Ten areas of functioning are considered in developing the testing battery for the patient:
- Comprehensive, full-scale intelligence testing
- Adaptive behavior
- Verbal ability
- Memory
- Attention
- Visuospatial and motor
- Processing speed
- Executive functioning
- Emotional and behavioral
- Academic
Not all areas will be appropriate for all patients. The battery is based on the referral needs and the presentation of the patient.
